This is an attempt to write a very short story based on a true incident. I can’t really recall all the details as it was sometime ago. This was on the City-to-Craigiburn train in Melbourne Metro.
I believe this happened in 2019 or late 2018. Unfortunatly, I can’t remember much.
But I remember what it made me feel like. So here goes my attempt.
Flirting on the train
I was on my way back home from work…
Amazingly, the train was not crowded… I got a seat in a 6-seater. Near the window seat I noticed this super sexy guy in grey sweatpants and a t-shirt. He was holding a book, it was about leadership.
But, what I noticed was his forearms, the muscles, the veins, and how his
strong fingers tossed and turned the pages. And his eyes intently glared at the lessons he learnt.
Wow! He was so sexy! Reading about leadership!
Something told me, he knew I was checking him out… The casual glances and
smiles thrown at him, I’m sure was enough for him to know
“I savoured his mere presence like how I enjoy smooth pistachio ice cream”
I waited for the perfect moment to say:
“That books looks interesting. Is it good?”
And we spoke for a while. It was evident that he knew I wasn’t after the book he was reading. His cheeky comforting smile that said “You are ok to talk to me” said so.
He explained to me that he was a Footy coach.
Wow! I never knew Footy coaches read about leadership.
This was even sexier now.
But, I had to get off the train before him.
Had I been a girl, would he have asked my number? Would he have offered to take me out for a drink?
Should I have asked, if he liked to meet for a coffee? Would I have freaked him out with my sexuality?
I would never know! It is now only a faint memory of one sweet guy.
I thank him today, as I did that day for blessing me with confidence
and comfort. For allowing me to say “I like you” the way I knew.
